Heath's "climb for the angels"

Heaths "Climb for the Angels" · 5 May 2021
So the story begins, three years ago I was told by my son Bradley that I was going to become a Grandfather again which was wonderful news for sure.
Brad and his Girlfriend Jodi seemed to be over the moon on discovering they where having a child together and so time moves on.After a couple of routine scans Jodi &Brad are informed the unborn baby has a condition called Gastroschisis which basically means the child's intestines is growing on the outside of the childs body instead of the inside, and will require surgery after birth.
This condition effects approximately 1 in 2224 children so is quite rare and mother and baby have to be monitored regularly which I'd like say all concerned was pleased,so time moves on and near the end of January 2018 Jodi felt something was not quite right so Brad and Jodi contacted local hospital and was told go to William Harvey Hospital Ashford Kent .
On arrival they where met and procdure began after a short time it's was discovered the baby's organs where slowly shutting down due to the cord being wrapped around the baby's neck so therefore the baby was going to be born that day some 6 weeks early panic set in ,Mum and Dad where informed they where going to be "Blue Lighted"by ambulance to a specialist team in Cambridgeshire who would be waiting for them this should have happened in London on the due date however due to current complications Cambridge it's was.
Now after nearly 12 hours myself pacing like a cat on a hot tin roof my son called and said a little baby girl had arrived weighing 3lbs 3oz called "Ruby-May" 27/01/2018 after hearing that the operation was completed and a success 2 hours after being born her little journey began.
On are first journey up to Cambridge hospital "Rosie Ward"was enormous like an inside maze myself and Gail my partner was met by Brad and taken to Jodi, after a short hello'sJodi and Gail went to the Intensive Care unit first.
On return I asked Gail "what's she like her reply was "She's beautifull but PREPARE YOURSELF" a little confused myself and Brad went to meet little "Ruby-May".
Once arriving in the Intensive Care Unit I meet my Grandaughter such a little miracle with tubes and respiratory machines plugged in every where my heart fell in love again and my eyes flowed a thousand tears surrounded by all these poorly babies and these miracle doctors and nurses rushing around all professional and calm.
Now after 3 more operations 2 blood transfusions battling septis being transfered to St Thomas Hospital London Ruby was well enough to finally come home after spending nearly the first 5 months of life in Hospital what a "Princess Warrior"to say her parents where overwhelmed is a understatement as where all family concerned.
To see the strength of Brad Jodi along with Rylan and Harley staying with his mum for 5 months nearly living out of a suitcase near enough was outstanding Rylan also missing out time with his Dad and both boys a credit to them both. Now the story is coming to an end and I would like to say a massive thank you to all the Miracle Workers Doctors Nurses who endlessly give their best everyday within the Specialist team of Averys Angels and across the land to all NHS workers with all my heart, so I have decided to try and raise a little money with the good will of Family and friends I've decided I am going to climb Mount Snowden on the 5th of May 2021 at the grand old age of 52 (yes I know I don't look it haha)with the help of a support crew to get me through and cheer me on you know who your are gang lol.
Finally I appreciate everyone's time to read my just giving story and if your donate if doesn't matter weather it's a small amount or large your generosity is very much appreciated.
THANK YOU ALL love Heathx
