Hector's 31 consecutive Half-Marathons · 1 August 2020

Antimicrobial resistance - or AMR - contributes to 35,000 deaths in the UK annually. Urgent action is needed. AMR Action UK support people affected by helping them navigate treatment, sharing their stories with decision makers and campaigning for urgent action to prevent avoidable harm and deaths.

Story

Did you know that antibiotic resistance kills hundreds of thousands of people worldwide (tens of thousands in the UK) each year and it is predicted that by 2050, resistance to current antibiotics will kill 10 million people worldwide per year? This important UK charity provides leading research in 3 main areas of work: breaking the resistance that some bacteria show to existing antibiotics, identifying alternative treatments so that doctors can save antibiotics for where they are really needed and providing small research grants to help academics at UK universities progress in their research. I have decided to challenge myself by running a Half-Marathon each day in August to try and raise money to support this great charity. I am also encouraging friends and family to accompany me each day!

I would be really grateful if you could make a donation, however large or small, to help me support this charity's great work.

THANK YOU!
