As many of you will know, my big brother Rene was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in December 2018. He turned 51 in June that year, so very young to be diagnosed with this. He’d had symptoms for around  5 months before he was diagnosed. I myself have been ill since December 2017 and during 2018 my symptoms became worse and varied. I underwent many tests during this time, all giving no answer to my problems. I had mentioned on several occasions that my father passed away in 2011 from pancreatic cancer. This appears to have gone unnoticed to those told. For in January 2019 I was told after a final investigation of a ct scan that I too have stage 3/4 pancreatic cancer. I am now too late for surgery, therefore making my cancer terminal. I am 48 years old, so again extremley young to have this and I feel probably overlooked as an option of  diagnosing me. An earlier diagnosis could have meant  a very different outcome! It is now very important to Rene and I to raise money for the early diagnosis of this awful disease. Genetic testing is to be carried out on our siblings and children, to see if they carry the gene. I can only hope that they don’t. But for their future, something needs to be done to diagnose pancreatic cancer upon those first symptons. Please, if you can, donate to this fundraising page.
