Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page in memory of our baby girl Heidi.

Heidi & Lydia's Story

Our twin girls were born 11 weeks premature at Worcester Royal Hospital on the 30th July 2016.

The night they were born I started experiencing reduced movements. Monitoring twin movements is always tricky and I did all the usual techniques to get the twins moving. After still not feeling anything from the top twin we headed into the hospital; this was more for peace of mind than anything else. After hours of searching for the second heartbeat we were told that it could not be detected and that they needed to be delivered straight away. In a blur of hospital staff and medical jargon our baby girls were born by c-section at 29 weeks.

Heidi was born asleep and Lydia was taken to the Neo-Natal Ward where she continues to be cared for.

We spent a bittersweet day with our gorgeous girl Heidi before saying goodbye and now spend as much time as we can in the hospital by our Lydia's side. She is growing stronger every day and fighting hard. Our first born little boy Sam has been our strength through all of this and for him too we are so thankful.

Without charities like Kicks Count raising awareness about the importance of monitoring your babies movements there is every chance both of our baby girls could have died. Because of their great work we managed to save Lydia and having her with us is a true blessing. Heidi will never be forgotten and will live on through her identical twin.

As a family we would really like to give something back to Kicks Count and in turn help to raise awareness so that other Mums know how important monitoring those kicks really is. £5 means that Kicks Count can print enough leaflets for midwives to hand to 100 Mums. The information in those leaflets is invaluable.

So in memory of our little angel Heidi, please dig deep and donate anything you can to this amazing charity.

Thank you.
