Hi everyone,

As you may well be aware I'm running the London Marathon this year (eek). I applied after running the Sheffield half marathon, thinking it would be a good idea, never thinking I would get a place first time round!

I know I have done a lot of charity work recently and everyone has been very generous, so this will be my last fundraising event for a while. This makes it the perfect chance for everyone to dig deep.

I've chosen Sheffield Children's Hosiptal as my charity this time as having 2 young girls so I'm well aware of the need for a great children's hospital (that and the fact that Iris has already been in A&E!). On a more serious note Iris has inherited the MEN2a gene from me  (sorry) which means she has a 99% chance of developing thyroid cancer. This means she is routinely monitored by the doctors at SCH and sometime in the future will need her thyroid removing :(. Because of this and the other fantastic work the hospital does I thought it would be fitting to donate any money I raise for them.

Please dig deep as this is going to take a lot of blood, sweat and tears on my behalf and I think it's a great charity.
