2020 is the Year of the Nurse. This year was going to be filled with celebrations for the amazing work nurses do.  Then COVID19 came, the celebrations stopped, the NurseForce did what they know best and got stuck in.  Unfortunately nurses are facing unprecedented challenges, adapting quickly to care for large numbers of patients in new ways. 

This is causing huge personal and professional stress for nurses of all backgrounds caring for the most vulnerable people.

I will be raising funds by running/walking 26 miles in my own garden, farm and treadmill. I am celebrating my 41st birthday on the 3rd May and thought this sounds like the perfect time to do this challenge! I am so proud to be a nurse and a Queens Nurse. I really hope that you can find a pound instead of sending me a card. It’s going to be tough, those to know me well know there will be tears, pain, blisters, lots of laughs and smiles- that’s because I am so passionate to help my wider Nurse friends.  I really appreciate it. 💕 X

So- on Friday 1st May this will happen! I’m not sure how many hours it will take but I will keep going until it is complete along with videos and evidence!  #HC41

All the money I raise will go towards supporting the QNI’s new Listening Service, which is our new programme to offer emotional support to all nurses working in the community health and social care settings. I am delighted that we have trained members of staff – Queen’s Nurses – who are staffing the new Listening Service, which launches on Monday 27th April.
