Walking the Saints Way, Cornwall · 13 September 2014

The Cornwall Historic Churches Trust gives grants for the restoration and repair of Cornish churches. Our founding principle recognises that "The churches are still there, still praying through the storms and the rains. We must not let down the past which has loved and cared for them".

A group of us are walking the Saints Way over two days, to raise funds for CHCT and also St Stephens and St Mary's Churches in Launceston, both very special buildings and an important part of the town's architecture. Maintenance of these beautiful buildings falls on a very small group of people.

The Saints Way crosses Cornwall from Padstow on the north coast to Fowey on the south, following an ancient pilgrims route between churches and crosses, so it seems a very appropriate walk. I have walked it several times before, but I was much younger and fitter then!
