Helen's 75k Thames Path & Grand Union Canal Walking Challenge Summer 2015

Thames Path Challenge 2015 · 12 September 2015 to 13 September 2015 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I know that people sometimes get tired of being asked to sponsor every 5mins for this, that and the other BUT THIS IS DIFFERENT! Why???you may ask, well let me explain.....
This Summer I'll be walking 75k for Camp Mohawk. I'm taking on 25k of the Grand Union Canal walking from Watford to Tring on the 27th June and then walking 50k from Runnymead to Henley down the Thames Path on Sept 12.
It has taken me a long time to go ahead and take this on, I'm overweight and under fit BUT I am determined. This is my first fundraiser since my schooldays but I wanted to go big and challenge myself so I have no choice but to work for this. You see I could have gone for a 5k or even 10k and asked for your money, but next week there'll probably be someone doing similar and asking the same. This is why I'm pushing myself to do this... I'm hoping that you'll see that I really am going to have to knuckle down and work my butt off to succeed and I'm hoping that this may give me an edge with regards to donations and maybe make you lovely people feel a little more generous :)
Camp Mohawk is a wonderful place for special families like mine. It really is a haven for parents to be able to relax and enjoy time with their children. It allows all children regardless of differences to play and make friends and is fully inclusive of siblings and helps young carers to take a breath and be kids! The staff are all brilliant and you really couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting, but unfortunately like with many smaller charities funding is limited and they rely heavily on public donations so they need people like me to do mad things to make money for them, which in turn means they need fab people like you to sponsor the mad ones!
SO PLEASE SPONSOR ME :)
