Oil slicks, stormy waves, sea-sickness, diesel fumes, container ships and ferries, jellyfish. What else would you do for fun? And what better way  to raise funds for a good cause? (OK, don't answer that one!)

There are two reasons for doing this. The first is to raise money for COSMIC, and the second is to fulfil an ambition.

If, like me, you've ever been the relative of a small and desperately sick person you will know that any additional support at a time of crisis is welcome.

COSMIC is a great charity that raises funds to support the work of the paediatric intensive care services at St Mary’s and Queen Charlottes Hospitals in London
