As this is my first marathon, it will be a huge personal challenge however I feel it is small when compared to the enormous challenges facing many families across Ireland right now. 

As a member of the Board of DIrectors of Barnardos, I am often exposed to stories of heartbreak, but equally as many stories of hope, and I have seen first hand the incredible impact fundraising has had on the services available to families in need. I have also witnessed the amazing difference in children who receive the correct support system.
