At the end of 2018, I was diagnosed with a rare muscle disease, myositis, which causes muscle inflammation and weakness. There is currently no cure. It has had a huge impact on my life as I have had to take early retirement and it limits my daily activities significantly. Research is desperately needed to find better treatments and (hopefully) a cure to this chronic disease. That's why I'm raising money for Myositis UK. They are a small charity and rely on fundraising so that they can support research projects.
