Million Miles for Mental Health · 30 June 2020

7 out of 10 children and young people who experience a mental health condition have not had appropriate interventions at a sufficiently early age.

Story

Robbo, who is an Alder Hey Children's Charity Board Trustee, decided to take on this challenge and has pledged to walk 200 miles in the month of July.

Robbo understands how important it is to support Alder Hey Children's Charity, so H also wanted to take on a challenge to help Alder Hey achieve their aim of 1 million miles by 2022!  H has decided to run 200 miles in the month of July

During July we are going to get together (socially distanced of course!) to motivate each other along the way so that we can achieve our goal of walking/running 400 miles

We better get our running shoes laced up and ready to go!!  We will wear our Alder Hey T-Shirts with pride whilst we are "pounding" the streets of Southport.

Thank you so much for all your support.

7 out of 10 children and young people who experience a mental health condition have not had appropriate interventions at a sufficiently early age. Our £3 million pound 7 in 10 Children's Mental Health Appeal is aiming to raise vital funds to enhance inpatient and community mental health services at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust, enabling more children to access the treatment they need at the time they need it. You can help now by signing up for our amazingly ambitious Million Mile challenge by pledging to cover a distance - running, walking, peddling, swimming, or hopping even and by raising sponsorship money you will be helping us towards our £3m target. Exercise is proven to benefit mental health. So what better way to support children and young people who need access to mental health services than to walk, run, cycle or swim and help us to reach a #MillionMiles for children's mental health by 2022.
