Story
In two weeks time (2nd August) I will be running the distance of 1 marathon (42.2km/26.2miles).
When I started training on the first day of lockdown I had never run further than 10k so I didn't think I would make it much past week 8 of my training plan... but I have made it!
I am doing this to raise money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, a world-leading cancer centre. This is a charity that really means a lot to me. The work they do is incredible and the staff are all so lovely!
The Royal Marsden ensure that nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, they will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far! I really appreciate it :)
Note: this is not an organised event like the London Marathon as coronavirus currently prevents these from taking place so I will be running this by myself in and around Sutton.
