Well, here we go again, GNR 2021! Let's hope it all goes as planned. If you read my story last year, you know- I am mad lol! No on a serious note I have always wanted to do the Great North Run when I became 40. Obviously, COVID put a stop to it last year, so 2021 is the year! I am taking part in this year's run for the charity SHINE as my daughter Grace has Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. I am so proud of the young lady she is and she does not let anything stop her. She has had many obstacles in her life and still got many ahead! Having that decision 13 years ago was one of the hardest if not the hardest ones to make. Being told that the human growing inside of you had this life-changing disability and to seriously contemplate termination! WELL, I AM SO PLEASED WE WENT WITH OUR GUT FEELING AND OF COURSE A SECOND OPINION to carry on. Grace is really our AMAZING GRACE!!!!   We really are blessed!!!  

Shine was so supportive throughout Grace's time in hospital and still is always at the end of the telephone. We really could have not got through without the help and support of all of the wonderful staff, that is why I am running for this amazing charity.
