Story

After loosing my dad to cancer last year,  it has been a constant struggle with my emotions to stay strong. I miss my dad every day.....just driving in the car, going to visit my mum, talking to friends or visiting familiar places to my dad is a constant reminder to me that he is no longer with us. The pain never gets easier but I have learnt to accept that he is no longer around.

Many a time I have had problems with my car or jobs around the house and the first person I would ring would be my dad. Been on my own with two kids and no father figure around is very hard a times and I miss him terribly.

My dad was such a hard worker, he grafted all his life and took care of his wife and made sure me and our sal had everything we wanted. And if he didn't have the money he would get it. I can honestly say I went with out nothing as a child.

My dad was also a very gentle man, very caring in nature and had a sensitive side to him which was very endearing. He kept me in line with out ever having to raise his voice to me. I was always seeking his approval in everything I did. My dad knew I was abit spontaneous at times, maybe a touch dippy and mixed with the unpredictable crazy side to me he always had his hands full . But he always supported me in my personal decisions often gently guiding me but always had the positive words I wanted to hear.

Last year I ran the half marathon for my dad. Im not a runner and had never ran the distance before, but my dad was my total focus, determination and strength whilst running the race. This year I am going to do the same. I owe it to my dad to raise money to beat cancer.

I would be very grateful if any of my kind friends or family would donate to cancer research to support me in the run.

Big thankyou to everyone who has got me through this year. Really appreciate your kind words. xxxxx
