I am running the Great North Run to raise funds for a charity set up in memory of my friend’s husband, who whilst appeared to be very fit and healthy, died suddenly from an undetected heart condition aged 40.

Neil’s wife Blanca, set up the charity as she wanted to prevent other Islanders going through the same devastating ordeal. 

The Neil Hussey Heart Charity has the long-term aim of testing the hearts of 1,000 school leavers every year.
