Story
Jack’s Journey is an amazing charity set up by the parents of a little boy, Jack, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in 2016. They provide financial support and respite breaks for other families whose children are fighting cancer at the Great North Children’s Hospital.
They have a wonderful caravan in Lowther Park in the Lake District where families can holiday and their children take a break from hospital and their gruelling treatment and forget about cancer for a while.
Our darling wee Theo has enjoyed several respite breaks at this wonderful place in the last three years of his chemotherapy treatment and it is truly his happy place where he can splash about in rivers, ride his bike and be a child away from all of the medicine, needles and surgery.
Theo’s treatment finally comes to an end in November this year and we want to thank Jack’s Journey for all the support they have provided us with throughout this time.
Like many charities, Jack’s Journey has been hit hard by the Covid pandemic and is in desperate need of fundraising if they are to be able to continue to support families of children with cancer.
We will both find the Great North Run a real challenge; Helen’s 4th and final GNR as her hips are giving up on her and Roger’s first ever running event! So please dig deep if you can and help us to raise a great amount of money for this fantastic charity!
