Story

Alex has been inspired by Captain Tom Moore to do some fundraising.

Because a lot of fundraising events like the London marathon have been cancelled, some charities have joined together to come up with the Two Point Six Challenge, and Alex is raising money for Tiny Tickers. This is a charity which raises money to train sonographers to detect heart defects in unborn babies, and support parents once there’s been a diagnosis. They’ve been really hard-hit by events being cancelled and because of some quirks in the qualifying criteria, don’t receive any of the Government’s promised help.

Alex is going to be running 26 laps of our back garden on Sunday. This works out to about 1km. If you could spare a couple of pounds, he’d really love to receive some sponsorship!

A baby is born with a serious heart condition every 2 hours in the UK and despite congenital heart disease being one of the biggest killers of infants, less than half of these conditions are picked up during pregnancy. That's why Tiny Tickers exists, to give these babies a better start in life.
