Four years ago next month, my dad had a quadruple heart bypass along with valve replacement surgery at Royal Papworth Hospital. The operation along with his recovery were both hugely successful, both due to his own fantastically positive and determined mindset, and to the expert care provided by Papworth Hospital. 

Ever since, I've talked about doing something to raise money for Papworth Hospital, however it's taken me a long while to work up the courage to sign up for something as challenging as a half marathon! On 8th March, Holly Pavey and I will be running the Cambridge half marathon. 

Royal Papworth Hospital has always ensured that it puts patients and their families at the heart of everything it does. The Charity is committed to supporting patients and their carers and seeks to enhance the support it provides to the Hospital. Charitable funds have enabled the Hospital to provide care beyond that of NHS funding alone, enhancing the Hospital’s status as the UK’s leading provider of specialist cardiothoracic care and the country’s main heart and lung transplant centre.
