Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2013 after lots of tests my Dad was diagnosed with ATTR Amyloidosis and he was sent to the National Amyloidosis Centre in London where he has been treated ever since. There are several different types of Amyloidosis, all are very rare and are a terminal illness to which there is no known cure.

Amyloidosis is caused by an abnormal protein called Amyloid being produced by the body and then being deposited in tissues and organs throughout the body which layer up causing the tissues and organs to fail.

The National Amyloidosis Centre staff have been fantastic and very supportive of both my dad and mum.
