Story

In May 2023, Cheryl planted the seed to Helen 'wouldn't it be great to run a Marathon'. Although both enjoy keeping fit, they are not regular runners so this would be the ultimate challenge but one they are ready to tackle head on to support this fantastic charity.

WellChild Children's Nurses provide essential care and practical support to children and young people requiring long-term or complex care. They play a crucial role in enabling children to leave hospital and be cared for at home, reducing the practical, emotional and financial impact for families.

Both Cheryl and Helen are mother's and have worked with children in their professional roles and feel motivated to go the extra 26.2 miles for children and their families who are less fortunate to have good health. Having a seriously ill child with complex health needs requires compassion and patience. WellChild supports families so their children can be cared for at home which is why this charity is so important.

WellChild do incredible work, they are committed to funding high quality, innovative projects designed to have a positive impact for seriously ill children both now and in the future.

WellChilds Helping Hands programme works with volunteers from companies and organisations across the country to tackle essential projects in the homes of children with serious illness, providing  manpower and enthusiasm for projects such as bedroom and garden makeovers.

Raising money for this charity will be an honour knowing that a child will be cared for at home with their family and loved ones.
