As many of you know I was diagnosed in 2017 with SLE and Discoid Lupus. Lupus UK along with my incredible team of doctors at Swindon Hospital have been an amazing support for me and as a result I have been in remission for 6 months now. 

I am lucky enough to be able to continue my life as normal, be successful in my amazing career that I love so much and be able to enjoy life with friends and family. However, other people are not so lucky.

 Lupus is a horrible lifelong condition that can and does kill, I know many people who have lost limbs, are not able to work, are paralysed/bed bound and infertile because of Lupus. Unfortunately I also know people who have died far too young (last year we lost someone from our support group who was only 28 years old!) It is a very serious condition and unfortunately there is no cure as of yet, because no one really knows about Lupus or why/how it can occur as its different for everyone. 

This is why I am challenging myself (I have always said I can't run and would struggle to run more than 5k) to run the Bristol Half Marathon, because so many people are suffering daily with Lupus, I wanted to push myself to help raise as much money as possible, to support those that are suffering and encourage them to not give up, to fight back like I have done and it will get better. 

I would love nothing more than to raise money to help these incredible doctors and researchers find a cure, so that more people can go into remission and be able to lead full, long, happy lives. I would really appreciate your support no matter how big or small it all counts, it's a very personal cause and would mean a lot if you could help me fight back. As the saying goes we are stronger together!
