Story

Hello ! Between the 21st and the 28th of May, Dad and I will be walking from Winchester to Eastbourne on the South Downs way to raise money for two charities that we care deeply about.

After the death of Sarah Everard and the following discussions on the prevalence of sexual violence against women, I felt an increasing anger and powerlessness. To channel this into something active and practical, I decided to do something for a local charity that helps survivors of sexual violence. I want to give my attention, time and energy to this cause, and nothing like walking to get you thinking and talking.  I have chosen to raise money for the Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre.

The Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre provides free and confidential practical and emotional support, information and advocacy to women, members of the trans community, non-binary people, and and young people aged 12-18 who have experienced sexual violence of any kind. They also work to change attitudes towards gender based violence and prevent sexual violence, running a free sexual violence education project for 11-25 year olds.

It means a great deal to me that my dad will be doing this walk with me, raising money for the Red Cross. His page is found here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/stuartsdw

Doggo will also be coming out as moral support:)

I hope you'll consider donating to this cause and support their work.
