Story
Helena Harry and Cassie Curtis-Smith live on opposite sides of the world - Helena in Australia and Cassie in the UK. These two women, formed a strong bond through their love of Eyawn Harry, Helena's husband and Cassie’s step-father.
Eyawn was born in the UK, where he spent the first part of his life, and where he raised his step-daughter Cassie. In 2007, he moved to Australia to live with his new wife, Helena. After 15 years of marriage, Eyawn was diagnosed with an aggressive form of metastatic prostate cancer. Cassie flew out to Australia to help care for her father in his final months of life.
For two months, Helena and Cassie cared for Eyawn and supported each other through an intense and challenging period. Walking in the surrounding countryside became a daily ritual which helped them deal with their grief. After Eyawn died on 12th November 2022, a plan was hatched by the two women to walk along the coast of Cornwall in May 2023, six months (almost) to the day after Eyawn’s death, to raise money for Prostate cancer research, and to honour his memory.
Six months to train, six months to raise money. Having witnessed the aggressive and heartbreaking demise of their larger than life father/husband, who had been so full of joy, humour and strength, Cassie and Helena would like you to support them in this 28 mile schlep along the Cornish coast to raise money for the valuable research which will hopefully prevent others sharing the same fate as Eyawn.
They thank you in advance for your generosity.
