Story
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
Dementia and Alzheimers is affecting more people year on year. Both my mum and my mother in law have now passed away and they suffered from dementia. It is devastating to watch people you love shrink into themselves and become completely different people. It is not only the patients that suffer as the responsibility for caring for dementia patients is falling to their own families more and more. This burden of responsibility often becomes heavy and can create feelings of helplessness and frustration. More needs to be done to help and support not only the dementia patient but their carers as well.
