Story

On the 18th of March, I will be running 13 miles in memory of  my Grandma and Hannah Francis.

All the money raised will be split and given to two amazing charities, Willberry Wonder Pony and Bethesda Hospice.

The first charity, Willberry Wonder Pony is a charity set up by Hannah Francis. She was a young event rider who was very sadly diagnosed with bone cancer just as her career was taking off. Hannah was a huge inspiration to many, especially me and never gave up even when times got extremely tough for her. She fought so hard and did so many amazing things which inspire us to never give up. This amazing charity is helping so many young people fulfil their dreams by sending half of the donations they receive to give young people their last wishes and the rest going towards funding for bone cancer research. This is an amazing cause and will help so many people in the future.

The second charity, Bethesda Hospice is a charity very close to my heart. On the 26th of November 2017, one of the most amazing people in my life, who I was so lucky to call my Granny, died peacefully in the care of this amazing care home. They make patients feel so at home with their amazing care whilst looking after them. In the rural area of Lewis, opportunities like this are so special and so important but because of its solidarity, donations are so important so they can continue expanding their amazing care, research and resources.

About the charity

The Charity was established by talented horse rider, Hannah Francis, following her diagnosis with the aggressive form of bone cancer, osteosarcoma. People all over the world followed Hannah's story which she told through her mascot, Willberry. Tragically Hannah passed away at just 18 years old.
