I have always wanted to complete a marathon (crazy I know!!) but I see it as a challenge that will push me to my limit and a little bit more!!

My father had prostate cancer and lost his fight in 2015, after battling it for 4 years. Having watched how he fought so bravely without complaining or making a fuss. Completing his doctorate at Exeter University, alongside making trips to the hospital to have chemotherapy (which he was awarded 2 weeks before he passed away) made me realise, me running a marathon is nothing in comparison to what he went through. 

If we and he had the knowledge and knew the common signs of prostate cancer maybe he could of had it detected earlier. He was not shy about spreading the word around his family, friends and colleagues once he was diagnosed with it, for them to get checked and made aware of the symptoms for it to be caught early. Some took his advice and discovered they had it to, fortunately in the early stages and they are/have received/ing  treatment. Without my fathers openness they would never of known. 

The money I raise will go towards prostate cancer to develop ongoing research and care of those men suffering with prostate cancer now and in the future. 

Men don't be shy..... go to the doctor if you are worried about anything and get your balls checked out!!!
