The Covid-19 Pandemic continues to wreak havoc across the world. The music industry has been one of the hardest hit and with theatres still closed, musicians world wide and of all levels face an unknown period of time without any income. In the months before the pandemic hit, so many of us worked for months in rehearsal, outlaid money for coaching, travel and accommodation, only to have contracts cancelled days before performances. With theatres still closed, and a huge number of musicians falling through the cracks of what is available in terms of government support, I am grateful to know that Help Musicians UK will be there to help. Their financial hardship fund has already helped nearly 17,000 musicians in need and they have just launched their second round of funding. Despite all the doom and gloom, I believe this is a time to look on the bright side. I encourage you to examine your own situation and see if you might be able to 'Pass on a Percentage' to someone in a worse situation than your own.

Perhaps you are fortunate enough to have a steady income right now and would like to be involved in supporting the music industry through this tough time? Could you pass on a percentage of what you earned today? 

Perhaps you are about to buy a coffee but would like to pay something forward. Could you donate the cost of that coffee to this campaign?

Maybe you aren't in a position to donate right now but would like to help by spreading the word. Could you pass on a percentage of your time to tell people about this campaign?  

Whatever position you're in, its nice to feel part of something positive during these challenging times. 

Most of you will have noticed I have quite long hair. So, today, I pledge that if this page raises £5000 or more to assist Help Musicians UK in their work, I will cut off my hair and donate it to the Little Princess Trust, to help a child or young person who has lost their hair due to cancer or other conditions. I have contemplated doing this for some time, so this seems like a good opportunity to kill two birds with one stone!
