5000 lunges in April for Teenage Cancer Trust · 28 March 2021
As family and friends, we are helping Hamish with his amazing fundraising for Teenage Cancer Trust.
Given that Hamish has set himself a series of challenges, we thought it only right that we join him by setting our own challenges. So far…. Jill has run 20km - in fancy dress!!), Amanda Nordic walked (with the blisters to prove it!) and family, Oliver and Sue pushed themselves to complete 5000 lunges in April.
I thought that, as his mum, if I was to do something it should be something really CHALLENGING! I wanted to commit to doing something I really would never, ever normally even consider….and then I dragged in my lovely friend, Suzy Orr, to do it with me!
So we are doing the worst thing I can think of - cold water dipping - in November - in Bolton!!!
If you know me, you know I don’t ‘do’ water. I’m the person you laugh at from your sun-lounger as it takes me a hour to inch into a heated swimming pool. I don’t even go into the sea in the Caribbean!! Suzy is a lot more at home floating in the Med than the res!
On November 28th we are joining a small group who will kick off with a 30–40-minute walk up into the Smithills moors, where we will set up by the water side and do a holotropic breathwork session preparing you for the cold water. Then it’s time for the cold dip!
This is so far out of my comfort zone, but am hoping the more challenging it is, the more people that will feel inspired to donate and help Hamish’s Challenge for the fabulous Teenage Cancer Trust.
We are setting a very ambitious target so PLEASE support us if you can with a donation, message of support or sharing this page with everyone you know!
Let’s help Teenage Cancer Trust continue the fabulous work they do!
Thank you!
