Helping Hull's Hospital Heroes

Fundraising for WISHH (Working Independently to Support Hull Hospitals)

We raise funds to support Hull Hospitals to enhance and enrich patient experiences

The coronavirus outbreak has put untold pressure on our NHS.

The killer virus has had a huge impact on everyone working in hospitals in Hull and East Yorkshire.

From the nurses and doctors caring for the most critically ill Covid-19 patients to the crucial support staff, they have all been affected in some way by the deadly pandemic.

That is why all of us at Hull Live want to help.

We want to put a smile on the faces of our devoted and dedicated hospital staff, which is what this fundraiser is for. Donations will go to WISHH - the independent charity which supports Hull’s hospitals, so they will go directly towards helping our local staff.

No matter how big or your small your donation, it will go directly towards supporting and helping our NHS heroes at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital.

Donations could provide staff with meals or drinks, activities for them to enjoy on their breaks like puzzles, magazines or books and - if we raise a significant amount - it could even be used to create a permanent wellbeing room to provide a lasting legacy.

Such a facility would enable staff to receive the emotional and wellbeing support as they continually deal with so many difficult situations, caring for the seriously ill and their families during the pandemic and beyond.  This facility would provide a lasting legacy which would help support staff, to build their emotional resilience while delivering great care for patients.

A donation of...

£5 will support a front line nurse with a meal, drinks and a snack.

£10 will provide a nurse with a wellbeing care package including protective face and hand creams to care for skin from constant mask and PPE wearing.

£100 will provide a Wellbeing Room Box, accessible to ward staff with mindfulness and distraction items to help them relax including journals, colouring and puzzle books, felt tip pens, puzzles, distraction games and wellbeing books.  The ideas for the contents of these boxes have been inspired by the staff.

In addition to the above, the charity proposes to spend between £1,000 and £3,000 to help make enhancements to staff rest rooms in the hospitals by improving the availability of and access to drinks facilities including coffee machines, microwaves and improving furnishings to enable staff to take a break.

Our NHS heroes are giving us so much - so let’s give them something to show them how much they are appreciated.

Thank you for your generosity.
