Asalaamu alaikoum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu,

I pray this message finds you in the best of health. My name is Abdul Rahman Dimachkie and I’m the imam of PIETY mosque, Plymouth. Despite being a small community, we’ve led the way in establishing ourselves as a centre dedicated to social initiatives such as street cleaning and helping our elderly neighbours. But now our mosque has hit hard times, struggling to cover running costs and meet deadlines to pay back Islamic loans.

We urgently need to pay back a £70,000 Islamic loan- if we don’t, we will never be able to move forward and eventually the centre may have to close. Sadly, this will mean that hundreds of Muslims in our congregation will have nowhere to pray. There are 7,000 Muslims in Plymouth. The survival of this initiative is essential for Islam to thrive in the region.

We’re in a truly desperate situation. And that’s why I’m writing to you, to ask for your help. I’m sure you know the hadith of the prophet Muhammed peace be upon him, that "Whoever builds a mosque, desiring thereby Allah's pleasure, Allah builds for him the like of it in paradise.’
