Story

Hello, my name is Teri, and I’m the very proud grandmother of Stanley — a bright, cheeky, and determined 9-year-old boy who has already shown more courage than most people do in a lifetime.

When Stanley was born, he suffered a brain injury that resulted in Cerebral Palsy. Because of this, it’s unlikely he’ll ever walk. But that doesn’t stop him from dreaming big, laughing hard, and lighting up every room he enters.

At the moment, Stanley relies on a heavy, cumbersome NHS wheelchair. It’s functional — but it limits his independence and makes it impossible for him to explore the world the way he longs to.

Stanley’s dream is simple:

To move on his own.

To play with his siblings in the woods.

To take the family dog for a walk.

To feel the freedom that every child deserves.

There’s a wheelchair out there that can make this dream a reality — lightweight, easy to self-propel, and fitted with an all-terrain front wheel so he can finally enjoy outdoor adventures with his family - see pic below.

The total cost is around £6,700, which is far more than we can manage alone.

We’ll be taking on fundraising challenges and community events to help reach this goal — but we need your help.

I’m not someone who finds it easy to ask for help, but I would do anything to see Stanley gain the independence, confidence, and happiness he deserves. Every single donation, no matter the size, brings him one step closer to that freedom.

If you’re able to give, please know that your kindness will make a life-changing difference — not just for Stanley, but for everyone who loves him.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, sharing, and supporting us on this journey.

With love and gratitude,

Teri (Stanley’s proud Gran)
