COVID -19 is a deadly virus. It does not discriminate on the basis of race or religion, or even location. It is infecting people on a GLOBAL level. And many of whom end up facing death as a result of this virus. 

This virus has created a worldwide devastation for those who are on low income or very little financial means. For some, it has made survival almost IMPOSSIBLE. 

Due to the loss of income and lockdown, it is not the Rich who are suffering starvation. It is the poor and the people at grassroots levels, and the poorest of all are dying due to starvation, illness and homelessness. 

One of the 5 pillars of Islam is Zakat. As Muslims, it is our opportunity and duty to offer support to the needy. The month of Ramadan is a month of REWARD. If there was ever going to be a time to support the needy, NOW is the time to come forward. The best charity is that given in Ramadan.
