I'm running for Refugee Resource because my neighbour, Belinda, is the Chair of Trustees and asked if I would be interested in running the Oxford Half Marathon for the charity.  As you know for me, any old excuse to put myself through several weeks of knee grinding road pounding and I'm in, so I eagerly said yes.

That was before I knew anything about the Charity but since that day several months ago I have become more familiar with the work they are doing.  I have seen first hand the passion and professionalism they apply to helping people who, through no fault of their own, are really quite vulnerable and lost in a land very far from home and alien to all they know.

They are clearly run by people with massive hearts and a strong sense of caring for others when they most need it.

If we go back far enough in our family trees we will all have some form of refugee ancestors who made it through their tough times, no doubt with the help of kind hearted souls like the ones at Refugee Resource.  I would love to think that by raising money for Refugee Resource we are helping not only those in immediate need but generations of future citizens.  Ones who will become positive contributors to, and help enrich, our diverse and stable society - just like you!

Its not easy for any charity to get funds especially in these uncertain times, but for a smaller one such as this with not such a glamorous title as others it is particularly difficult, so I would really appreciate it if you could sponsor me for whatever amount you can. Help me get them some extra resources to help them keep up the good work.
