Story
I am doing this in support of Tony Nicholson, a colleague & friend of mine who was diagnosed with this disease before Christmas. He's now had the pleura (lining) of his left lung removed and is awaiting chemo.
It's also a way to raise awareness of this problem amongst my friends and family.
1 in 5 people in the UK has a lung condition. That means 10,000 new diagnoses per week. British Lung Foundation is the only UK charity looking after the nation's lungs. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world without lung disease. For example, £8 allows one of the BLF's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering support to someone in need.
This ride was scheduled for August 2020 but got cancelled due to Covid. Thank you very much to all those who have donated the first time round, Tony and I are riding the new Ride-London-Essex 100 miles this Sunday May 29th with our thanks to all of you.
We'd be very grateful for any additional donations one could make wherever you are in the world! (does not need to be UK only)
Thank you in advance.
