Story

2023 Christian Aid week is nearly here

Sorry we are using last years just giving page again  until we sort out a glitch with the 2023 one!! but your donations still go straight to Christian Aid

St Johns United Reformed Church challenge  this year is to walk the ANGEL WAY from Newcastle to Durham, led by John and Ron . Please come along and walk with us, and please sponsor us!

Last year we raised  nearly £700 to help the poorest people of the world.  Can we do better even this year ?

The 2023 Christian Aid campaign focuses of Esther and Jen- Pigeon pea farmers from Malawi  - trying to raise  crops that will both feed them and raise enough money for the basics of life such  education for their children.

For the first time in a generation, global poverty is rising. Covid-19, conflict, and the climate crisis are pushing more of our global neighbours into a struggle for survival. With support from Christian Aid partnersthey can  sow  specially breddrought tolerant crops, defvelop fair cooperative markets, mill their own pea flour and bake bread to sell locally,  build storerooms to preserve food and bounce back from future droughts... and generate enough income to pay their children's school and college fees. Please give today, and help thes loving mums, and hardworking farmers  provide food  and better opportunities for their families. Thank you.
