Support #HGCYCLE2018 - the Home Group Cycle Challenge
This is the fundraising page for all riders taking part in #HGCycle2018. We want to raise £5000 for the Home Group Fund, so we can continue to support customers who are experiencing severe financial hardship.
It isn’t quite the Tour de France, but #HGCYCLE2018 will see plenty of hills, lycra, and aching quads, when more than 25 Home Group colleagues of varying abilities take on the challenge of riding a 200 mile route from Edinburgh to Newcastle between 15th and 17th September this year.
#HGCYCLE2018 is one of our biggest fundraising events for the Home Group Fund this year, and one of our activities for #housingday2018 too.
You can help our colleagues keep going, and make a real difference to the lives of customers experiencing severe financial hardship, by sparing a donation to the Home Group Fund for #HGCYCLE2018.
The Home Group Fund is fully funded by donations and sponsorship from colleagues, suppliers, partners, and members of the public.
All sponsorship and donations will be very gratefully received – you can sponsor us by using this page, or donate by texting HGCC99 with the amount (e.g. HGCC99 £10) to 70070.
And remember – please show your support and follow our progress on social media using our #HGCYCLE2018 hashtag – we’re on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
About the Home Group Fund
Every day, Home Group provides accommodation and support for some of the most vulnerable people in society.
In line with our mission to build homes, independence and aspirations, the Home Group Fund has been set up to help Home Group customers who are experiencing severe financial hardship.
It makes a real difference to our customers’ lives – they can apply for funding to help with things like:
Homes: Moving into a new home can be daunting, especially when every penny counts or a change in circumstance means that customers have to choose between rent, food or heating and the bare essentials for their home. The Home Group Fund helps to make this choice easier for those in severe hardship, and our customers can apply for money for essentials such as food, clothing or essential white goods.
Independence: How can we help customers to help themselves become more independent? It could be improving online/digital skills or having access to education, employment or training opportunities which may currently seem out of reach, and our customers can apply for funding to help with these things.
Aspirations: Our customers' aspirations are as individual as they are. From help with travel to volunteering opportunities or job interviews, to support with clothing for the first day in a new job – our customers can apply for funding to help with these things, and all we need to know is what someone is aiming for, what they plan to achieve and how the funding could make this happen.
