Highbury Grove School is a community state secondary in London, where 80% of students have homes where English is not the mother tongue. Our Foundation was set up to support the school and provide funds to subsidise events for disadvantaged pupils so increasing equality of opportunity.

Story

Due to our continued success at Islington Borough Swimming events, and a successful blueprint provided by the Highbury Grove cricket Academy, we have now set up the HIGHBURY GROVE SWIMMING ACADEMY (HGSA).

We feel that we have some excellent talent at Highbury Grove and with some support and commitment we could achieve success in swimming.

We would like to prepare a team to compete at a high level in a number of galas in 2013, including the London Schools Swimming Association Gala, then possibly the English Schools Swimming Gala!

Our next step is to hold a fundraising event at the school pool. The challenge will be for the whole squad, combined, to swim the equivalent width of the English Channel….21 miles, on Thursday 14th Feb!!

The aim of the fundraising event is to raise enough money to buy team swimming tracksuits, swimming hats, and costumes. The money will also go towards entering competitions and transport. Our target is £750.

So now you know all about the Highbury Grove Swimming Academy (HGSA), we are looking for some support and sponsorship. All donations are welcome and with your generous support we can give our students access to a range of opportunities beyond the class room.

Thank you for your time and support!
