Story

Thank you for your interest in the Harrogate Grammar School Maths Faculty's "Marathon in May".

For May 2020 the HGS Maths Faculty are undertaking the challenge of each completing a Marathon in May to raise money for WasteAid which is our nominated school charity for this year. We will be doing this by running and cycling whilst obviously adhering to social distancing rules.

We are raising money for one of WasteAid's link projects KMEG - a sustainability action group based on the shore of Lake Naivasha in Kenya (see link below).

The school closure occured during our annual Charities week which the Charities Committee and school as a whole had worked hard to prepare for. This is one of a number of challenges that staff and students are taking.

We will be updating the running track at the top of this page via our twitter page (@HGSMaths_) to keep you abreast of our progress. We currently have 13 members of the Maths faculty involved.

Now that we have raised over £500 from your kind donations then the stretch target of a "Marathon of Marathons in May" has been activated. This means that we will collectively need to cover 687 miles  (approx 1106 km)

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Best wishes, HGSMaths
