Oh yes and thank you so much to everyone who donated. Including the collection at Dad's funeral and what we have collected on the way we have raised over £1000. Thank you.

So we finally made it to Inverness 2 weeks and 2 hundred miles from our start in Glasgow. The whole walk has been a fantastic experience, wonderful scenery and brilliant weather (this week at least!). Thanks to Nigel and Jenny for their great company in the first week, hope we didn't break them! Mostly thank you to my wonderful wife, she arranged all this, kept pace all the way and as always was fantastic company, even in a tiny tent! Mostly this one was for you Dad.

Made it to near Invermorisron, getting tired now. Only 2 days to go, some more sponsorship might help! Sitting in a field with Sarah and thirty billion midges, such fun. No alcohol for three days, no pubs!

Now on the Great Glen Way, weather lovely today, only did about 12 miles along the banks of the Caledonian canal. Sadly due to injury, illness and bad weather, yesterday's climb of Ben Nevis had to be abandoned. Sarah tummy and David knees, feel better today but our schedule didn't allow another day. Today's campsite is eerily quiet. Thanks to Bill and Suzanne's incredible generosity we are now well over £600 pounds. Signal poor hope this posts. D

Made it to Kinlochleven. Weather not great for the past two days, very long walk to Kingshouse yesterday about 20 miles. One day of the West Highland Way to go, then on to Great Glen and Ben Nevis.

Just arrived in Tyndrum more than half way up the West Highland Way. Perfect weather again, got the tent up, but it would appear we are in midget central! Sarah has burnt shoulders to match my burnt hand, but no blisters or injuries otherwise. Forecast doesn't look so good tomorrow, but the scenery so far has been wonderful and the trip has been great apart from the rain on day two.

Two days of glorious weather. conic hill yesterday made for a very long day, not helped by 2 mile diversion in the forest! 17.5 miles in all instead of 14! today was 14.5, lovely walk along loch Lomond but very up and downy and very rocky. beautiful scenery though! staying in oak cabin tonight. just had lovely dinner. will try and get some photos up later.

Glasgow to Milngavie yesterday went well, quite dry. today scotland lives up to it's stereotype. very wet, staying in a cabin cos it's too wet to pitch a tent. David's scalded his hand which has blistered but we've dressed it now.

The recent, sad death of my Father from heart disease has led me and my wife to undertake a gruelling 200 mile hike to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

Sarah, a teaching assistant at Heacham Junior School, and I, will embark on a sponsored walk to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation. Our walk begins on the 22 of July in Glasgow and follows the West Highland Way to Fort William. Here we take a break by scaling Britain highest peak, Ben Nevis, before continuing on the Great Glen Way to Inverness.

We expect to take two weeks to complete our hike, carrying all our kit and camping all the way. Last year we completed the 'Coast to Coast' walk just for fun, but following the recent death of my father we have decided on a tougher challenge to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

My employer, Parkers Optometrists of Downham Market, Norfolk, have pledged financial support along with sponsorship from optical supplier Nikon Lenswear. I would like to thank Claire Parker from Parkers Optometrists in Downham Marker for her valuable support.

Alex Mayer, Norfolk Community Fundraising Manager for the British Heart Foundation said: “Our heartfelt thanks to David and Sarah for going on this demanding hike in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Heart disease is an urgent problem in Norfolk and the money they raise will fund life saving equipment, patient care and ground breaking research to keep more hearts beating in Norfolk.”
