Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In the last 5 years I have lost a sister to breast cancer. My best friend, my sister- in -law and now I have been diagnosed and, so far, successfully treated.

We all know someone who has cancer. Their treatment often starts with chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy. Radiotherapy is only available in Oxford. This means that patients from Swindon and Highworth need to travel every day  to receive their recommended treatments. This can be for 3 to 8 weeks

For each patient, the distance covered will be in excess of 1220 miles (20 visits at 61 miles per journey), travel time is around 2 hours without including time for treatment which can take 10 - 15 minutes and sometimes with a long wait.
