Story
This September...
In Nepal: Justin and Oktawia will climb to Everest Basecamp.
In Wales: Ed, Isabelle and Hope will climb Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa.
The team's annual fundraising drive will be in support of ActionAid's East Africa Food Crisis appeal. In 2020, our 24 Kilometres for Yemen campaign raised over £2000 for Care International; and in 2021 we raised £1250 for the Rainforest Trust in our exhausting 24 hour streaming marathon, 24 Hours for Our Planet.
This year, we return to the trail for another good cause. Up to 20 million people in Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia are facing extreme hunger every day, with severe malnutrition amongst infants and young children.
ActionAid’s emergency teams are working with local partner organisations, women leaders and young people to provide live-saving food, water, and livelihoods support in Ethiopia, Kenya and Somaliland. The food crisis has been exacerbated by climate change and the invasion of Ukraine (which has increased the price of many staple foods).
