In memory of Malcolm Matthews
We raise life-changing funds to enhance care at UHS

Story

Just under a year ago, we lost our Scout leader, Malcolm Matthews, after a battle with cancer. We, his former Scouts, decided to mark the anniversary of his becoming a leader by doing something to mark the event. As Malc was a keen outdoorsman, we decided to do a hike, but no normal hike.

We’re going to be hiking from our hall in Brook Road, Bitterne to Brownsea Island via Ferny Crofts - in just 24hours. Furthermore, we’ll be taking a flagpole the entire distance and we’ll be raising a flag every hour, wherever we are!

We’ll keep you up-to-date with social media posts, pictures and tweets as well as recording some of the journey.

We're aiming to raise as much money as possible for Malc's charity; The Piam Brown Ward at Southampton General Hospital. Find out more about what they do here: http://www.southamptonhospitalcharity.org/Piam-Brown-Ward
