Everest Base Camp · 20 March 2015

Laniado Hospital, Natanya Israel is a humanitarian aid centre of life in the Middle East, founded on the principle that people from every faith and every race deserve to be treated in a dignified manner with the highest regard for humanity. Laniado is committed to a politics-free atmosphere and pursues a model of peaceful initiatives through healthcare.

Story

On the 20  March, I will be setting off to trek to base camp at Mount Everest.

It covers 71 miles over 12 days, trekking at altitude for 7 hours a day on average until I reach Everest Base Camp at 5,364 meters

Why would I put myself through this challenge (also involving minus temperatures at night....) and for what cause?

I love a challenge and the cause is an institution close to my heart; The Laniado Hospital in Netanya, Israel. This medical campus is founded on the principal that compassion, kindness and sympathy are the threads that bind all humanity irrespective of race or religion.

The aim is to raise money for an Advanced Defibrillator in the Emergency Unit. This machine will help improve survival outcomes for patients with sudden cardiac arrest

The machine costs £17000 and can be used around many hospital departments.

Thank you again
