Story

I'm taking on Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Mount Snowdon (1,085m) aiming to summit all three in a total trekking time of 15 hours or less all for St Margaret's Hospice Care. A group of us will be doing the 3 Peaks Challenge in September and have been training hard for the challenge that awaits us. This event coincides with my retirement on the 15th September and will hopefully be a fitting end to my career at St. Margaret's. I've been privileged to work as a nurse and more recently Governance Director at St. Margaret's for just over 23 years. I've seen many changes over the years but the one thing that remains constant is the incredible dedication of the clinical staff to provide what can only be described as superb care for patients and support for families as they progress through their journey living with a life limiting condition. Alongside the clinicians there are hundreds of staff and volunteers working tirelessly to support the work of St. Margaret's in many different capacities. Each one has a vital part to play to keep the charity afloat. COVID-19 has brought with it even more challenges but still we keep going ever more determined to make St. Margaret's Hospice Care one of the most loved and respected charities in Somerset. So please do consider supporting me to complete the challenge and donate to St. Margaret's Hospice Care, a charity that I am so proud to have worked with for the last 23 years.
