Hello, I am Hilary Selby.

 

 

I am determined to raise £3,300 (incl. Flights) for Tearfund to have the opportunity to help families who are suffering with HIV/AIDS in South Africa, around Howick/Mpophomen with a team of  7 Girls. I will be there from the, 11th April-6th July 2012. The ministry I am working with ‘Ethembeni’ means, ‘place of hope’.

Teams activities are:

-Teaching English, Maths, Business and Science for under 12’s.

-Helping start vegetable gardens with the local community.

-Engage with children’s activities.

-Lead worship and become involved in the spiritual life of the community, both mentoring and learning.

-General maintenance: painting, repairs and so on.

I am doing this because I feel; there are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is, though everything is a miracle. Who knows what this trip will bring and open our eyes too. I want to make a change, a long lasting one!
