Story
Harefield & The Royal Brompton is a heart and lung specialist hospital. We have all worked with Ness Tedbury who a few years ago underwent major life saving transplant surgery at Harefield. We would like people to donate to help the hospital continue with its excellent care and costs towards equipment which helps save lives.
The cycle team are dipping into their own pockets to fund this cycle so every penny donated goes direct to the hospitals good work. Furthermore Hitachi Capital have agreed to match £ for £ every donation.
This will be the fifth Hitachi Capital cycle event (HCCCR5) after 2012's ride from Hounslow to Paris, 2013's ride from Staines to Brussels, 2014's Palace to Palace ride and 2015's epic Staines to Amsterdam.
This years ride starts on Thursday 20th September from the Hitachi Capital office in Staines-Upon-Thames and, over the next 4 days, sees the team cycle down to Portsmouth, hop on an overnight ferry to St Malo, before wending our way down through western France to the famous Phare des Baleines lighthouse at the tip of the Ile de Re on France's Atlantic coast, arriving there on Sunday 23rd September. Its a long, challenging ride with the team covering over 100 miles on each day.
The riders are - Andy Murdoch, Matt White, Andrew Upton, Max Wood, Graham Lines, Jeremy Johnson, James Cadman, Michael Jones, Jack Dyas, Geoff Wigg, Pete Hicks & Rob Kings
We will be supported by Teresa Slack, Ness Tedbury and a big white van.
