Story
Snehalaya is very close to me as I was priviledged to visit the centres in Ahmednagar (India) in 2017. I spent a few days meeting the amazing staff and volunteers who have dedicated their lives to helping others. I also met the happy go lucky children who have suffered by many aspects of their lives but still continue to smile, laugh, dance and live life full of gratitude!! This was really moving to see which put my own life into perspective!! 💫
Here are some staggering facts about India. In India about 93 women are raped everyday. It is estimated that 135,000 children are trafficked every year. Over 120,000 women a year will suffer domestic violence. there are 2.1 million people living with HIV and an estimated 130,000 people die if AIDS each year. (www.Snehalaya.org).
Snehalaya's vision is to develop the awareness and capabilities of individuals who have been deprived of their fundamental rights as a result of the inequalities that exist in out society.
Snehalaya' s mission is to provide rescue, rights and rehabilitation services to the communities in most need. To offer a safe exit point to women and their children trapped in the crippling cycle of poverty and abuse.
With your help they can get closer to achieving this. Please dig deep and donate to this incredible cause! 🙏🙏🙏
