My family, like so many others, have had the horror that is the 'Big C' come into our lives. My Nan passed away with a form of blood cancer and my dad has suffered with bowel cancer as well.

Furthermore, this year, it was with great sadness to hear of the loss of a good friend's wonderful husband, Cameron, after his three year battle with Hodgkins disease. I know of far too many people who have faced or are facing a battle with cancer either directly or through family members and without charities such as Macmillan, this battle would be even harder fought.

Macmillan's support is a godsend to so many and the work they do is all too easily overlooked sometimes. For this very reason, I will run with thousands of others supporting good causes in an aim to raise awareness for the wonderful work they do.

It is Macmillan's support, alongside the research carried out by Cancer Research, UK that allows us to continue to shout "NO" in the face of cancer and fight on to find a cure:)
