"The best form of charity is giving someone water to drink" [Prophet Mohammed - PBUH - Sahih al-Bukhari].

As-Salaamu Alaykum everyone,

Abbid and I are fundraising with Human Appeal to implement an advanced Solar Panel Water Well for an entire village in Tharparkar district in Pakistan (the fifth largest desert of the world). 1.6 million population in Tharparkar are facing a water crisis, Little or no rainfall, droughts, dry weather and water shortages have meant that people are struggling to survive due to poor sanitation and water quality leading to 1000's people dying. Not having access to water, a toilet and basic hygiene.and not being able to grow food, drink water or feed their livestock.

Allah says in the Qur'an, 'By means of water, we give life to everything.' (Qur'an, 21:30)

Tharparkar, the constant search for water takes up to several hours a day in the blazing heat where women and little children face unimaginable hardship everyday walking 2-3 kilometres with large clay pots on their heads for 10-15 litres of water and still they don't have clean water. 

The gift of water saves lives,  Allah says in the Qur'an, 'And whoever saves one [a life] - it is as if he had saved all of mankind.' (Qur'an, 5:32). Every single time the water you donated saves someones life, it is as if you saved all of mankind! 

To overcome this water scarcity issue, we would like to raise £2750.00 this Ramadan to help BEGIN this campaign of a solar power water well for one village of people. Using solar energy, the water pump works around the clock to store sufficient water in the storage tank so that communities have 24 hour access to water in abundance, not only meeting their drinking needs but also for their domestic usage and livestock. Water supply lines are also installed extending access to the solar water pumps by supporting distant households with piped water access to their doorsteps. 

Additionally, Human Appeal will provide communities with the agricultural tools, on farm training and climate smart agricultural seeds/inputs using the water from the solar water wells to grow local vegetables and establish domestic kitchen gardens to meet their nutritional and dietary needs, thus saving thousands of innocent lives dying from malnutrition every year. This will include a sanitary area; solar panels which provide light and electricity; hygiene training to prevent the spread of disease and infections; and widows will be provided with a pair of goats so that they can produce and sell milk to support their families. Your donations will help to achieve this In shaa Allah!

Next year before Ramadan 2021, In shaa Allah I will be flying out to Tharparkar with Human Appeal to show the work that has been done with your donations through photos/videos so that you could see the difference that you have made. 

Alhamdulillah, for every opportunity Allah gives us take advantage while you still can and have the chance. Anyone who gives water for the sake of Allah will surely find their reward with Him. 

£25,000 will transform an entire village suffering from years of water scarcity by bringing sustainable water, innovative farming training and livestock to a whole community, providing all the tools they need to thrive.
